Jaime K.

Jaime is a teen girl that was diagnosed with Pituitary Germinoma January 2021.

This diagnosis came after experiencing delayed growth, extreme fatigue and constant need to drink water and urinate (Diabetes Insipidus). After meeting with a pediatric endocrinologist, having a battery of blood tests and MRI she was diagnosed with Panhypopituitarism and pituitary mass.

The pituitary mass was further explored by a pediatric neurosurgeon who performed a lumbar puncture and transsphenoidal endoscopic surgery to confirmed the diagnosis, Pituitary Germinoma.

Jaime will now undergo four rounds chemotherapy which will be followed by four-six weeks of daily proton radiation.

Jaime continues to have a positive outlook and a great support.

Update September 2022,

Jaime underwent chemotherapy and then followed by proton radiation. Jaime has been in remission since then and is enjoying being a teenager. Jaime is a senior in high school, has a part-time job and still finds time to attend many community service events. This past year Jaime wanted to thank Chasin A Dream and organized the first Easter 5K. This event was very meaningful to her as she wanted to give back to the organization that helped her through the toughest time in her life.

Jaime is really excited about finishing high school next year and continuing her education so that she can become an Elementary School Art teacher. Jaime enjoys traveling throughout Europe where she gets to spend time immersed in local culture. She is excited about the upcoming trip to Eastern Europe and what she will learn.

March 2024:

What a beautiful sound bath session tonight with @shelbyxelizabeth leading the class and @djkipp1205 by my side at Nature Speaks Farm with rescue horses present. With all the stress I have been drowning in, this was exactly what I needed to reground myself to the earth and feel the relief.

Update October, 2024:

I just wanted to say in a separate message to you that I can’t believe this is my life. I have had so many difficult life events to go through at such a young age and all within at least 3 years of each other and it has been a lot. When I got diagnosed with cancer it was scary. When mom and I met you, you had (still do) this light for wanting to give to me to make me feel less alone—like my mom and I are growing this supportive community. I am so incredibly grateful you are a part of my community—my life. You have given me way more than what I ever thought I would have, and the ERAS TOUR just takes it over the top in the best way possible! You always say I’m an incredible person (which I am), but you… YOU are an INCREDIBLE PERSON. Thank you, Lori. Thank you for everything you have done fore me. You truly changed my life. I love you.
