Veta

Diagnosed at 3 years old with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, this spunky little beauty endured two years, two months and 7 days of treatment, including 32 rounds of chemotherapy, multiple platelets and blood transfusions, and taking pills every day for over a year. She will finish July 27, 2017. Veta will continue to be monitored monthly.

Not bald from chemo anymore, Veta loves her “crazy curly hair”. She is passionate about horses and how beautiful they are. She loves playing outside and wearing her pink cowboy boots (everywhere!!!). Veta is starting Kindergarten this year……pink boots and all.

August, 2017:
We want to say congratulations Veta on your last treatment. We wish you a very very long, healthy and cancer free life!

May 19, 2021:

Sometime when you fall, you fall so deep that you can’t even imagine the light on the other side!!
.
You may wonder why May 20th, diagnosis day stays with me so hard!
.
It’s because, not one person should watch a child suffer with cancer!
.
It because, it changes you in ways honestly you didn’t think were possible.
.
For you my love, we’ve fought hard for you!
.
The destruction I saw in our journey doesn’t leave a person. I saw 5 live humans die around you and still had to fight like nothing was wrong.
.
Our fight should be a distant memory, but honestly I will take it with me, as heart ache that led to so much growth!
.
As your now about to leave the 3rd grade and entertain life, the moments I was your parent as a cancer mom, will never leave. The moments I saw so much sadness doesn’t either. It’s called grief. It’s allowed to happen.
.
Tomorrow, I celebrate you and all that you will become, but I won’t forget all that got lost!
.
The masks, the nightly chemo with me in one, the times spent @post_fl , or @chasinadreamphotography for this epic photo, and the love from every person who has helped us move forward...I love you!
.
My girl I’m thankful to watch you grow and thankful for what you’ve done for me!!
.
Fuck leukemia!!
