Geo M.

Geo was diagnosed with ALL-Leukemia in November 07, 2018 at aged 14. Geo was a very athletic kid his passion for soccer is something that he will never give up. His favorite team is Barcelona. Geo is the oldest of three siblings. He was excited for his first year of high school and was attending an engineering class.

His school year was cut short after Geo who barely gets sick got sick. One day after he came home from school not feeling well stayed home for a couple of days thinking it was a stomach bug or a virus. He was taken to  the hospital after several test taken from an urgent care came back abnormal. He was admitted as soon as we got to the hospital.

After few days of him being admitted we were confirmed by a bone marrow biopsy that he had Leukemia and Renal issues. Since then Geo was under dialysis for his kidney and a whole bunch of other testing.

He became worse as the days go by since all his immune system and white count were very low. Then Geo began chemo treatments and getting in and out of the hospital. Since that date he continue his battles and stays strong at all times.

At this time he continues with chemotherapy and other medications. He have few more years to go. This has been a difficult process for Geo but he sure is the strongest of the family.

Geo's dream is to become a professional soccer player or an engineer, visit Barcelona meet Messi, Neymar, and camp around the world.

Everyone loves Geo and Geo loves everyone!

Update February 5, 2020:

World Cancer Day. What can I say? Cancer as you came into my child’s life is the same way you are leaving and never coming back because God has a better plan than you cancer. After a ‘lil over 1 year of Geo's diagnosed yesterday, I had to go to the ER myself. I cried and cried and cried of how bad I felt how stress overwhelmed and tense I been for the past months.

It’s not easy and pray everyday for the best. I try to be as tough as I should be. But at the end of the day, we are humans and have a heart and feelings. I never heard the word cancer as I hear it now. I pray for a cure for everyone who is battling any type of illness.

Geo is a very strong kid; he has taken this very easy just like me he had a down on Sunday were he cried because his hair is falling out again because he can't focus on school because he understand that he will be ok, but the process is not easy. It breaks my heart seeing my child like this; breaks my heart each time a child is gone due to cancer.
